In the Entities Module, you can quickly create and manage Custom Reference Lists, such as:
Internal code categories
Lists of Task Types
Geographic areas
Company departments of Individuals
...
To illustrate this feature, In this guide, we’ll create a list of Mandate Types for a company in the energy sector, to help classify mandates across different committees.
Create the Reference List
Go to:
Under Configuration > Data Customization > Reference list
We can create a new reference list called Mandate Category.
During creation, you can choose:
Whether users can add new elements to the list directly during usage.
Whether to assign a custom code to the list for easier access.
To create the list in multiple languages, to support international operations.
Once we create our list, we will populate it by selecting it on the reference list tab.
We decide to create 3 elements on our list
- Regulatory Mandate
- Operational Mandate
- Strategic Mandate
Assign the Reference List
After the list creation, we want to create a new custom field, that will bring forward the new list Type into the Mandates.
The custom field, attached to Entity – Mandates, can be input when we create our committees. Here, When a mandate to an instance, we will have the possibility to specify the item we want to select from the list.
Use and Filter
Inside Boards & Committees menu it will be possible to filter and visualise the newly created "Mandate Category". It is possibile to insert the field for old mandate, for which this field is not defined.
