Lend shares instead of only transferring them, ensuring compliance & flexibility on your capital management, while keeping cap tables fully transparent. No more external tracking!
Note that during the time the shares are lent they are considered as transferred shares, so they will appear as such in the number of shares.
Assuming we’re representing the point of view of Shareholder “A”:
- Number of shares (borrowed) - The number of shares (for a certain share type) that have been borrowed by A from another shareholder after a lending transaction. This counts into the Number of shares total as if the shares were transferred to A.
- Number of shares - Now the number of shares includes the number of shares (borrowed). Number of shares = Number of shares (borrowed) + Number of shares initially assigned or transferred
- Shares lent - The number of shares that A has lent to another shareholder. They don’t count in A’s number of shares.
In this article, we will learn how to:
Lend shares
Access the shareholders tab and select the lending icon on the right of a company.
- Select Lending in the Lending/Return field
- Select the type of shares to share and click on Next

In the next page
- Indicate the number of shares lent. Under the Lending shareholder is indicated the number of shares owned by the lender.
- Select the Borrower from among companies and individuals.

Before confirming the transaction, find a summary of the shareholders before and after transaction:

Return shares
From the Lending icon start the return process. Select Return in the Lending/Return field and select the type of shares you are returning.

Next Indicate who you will be returning the shares to and the number of shares you are returning.
Note that you can only return shares to an entity you borrowed from.

Again before confirming, there will be a summary of the shareholders shares before and after transaction.
Look for the operation history
- You can find the history of the operation in the Timeline tab and in the Shareholder transaction tab.

- From the Shareholder table you can also find the information in the Borrowed and Lent shares columns. These columns can be added through the Option button.

TIP: Create a reminder
Little tip to help better manage the shares lending.
If the shares were lent for a determined period, you can create a task from the task manager and set a reminder to return the shares.
