How to create companies and branches in bulk?

Modified on Fri, 24 May, 2024 at 5:22 PM

From the Company tab, add companies and branches to your platform, either manually or in bulk.

The bulk feature will allow you to massively create companies and branches by uploading an Excel file to the platform.

In this article, learn:

  • How to import in bulk?
  • How to complete the excel template?

How to import in bulk?

Create multiple companies and branches through an Excel import.

To do so, next to the “Add a company” button, click on the down-pointing arrow and select “Import from xls”.

If you have an existing template already completed, either drag and drop it or select it from your computer.

If you don’t, click on “Download a template file” and complete the document, before returning to the platform and importing it.

The “Stop the import at the first error” checkbox will allow you to choose how the import will progress:

  • If you tick the box:

The import process will stop as soon as an error is detected (i.e. the template file has not been completed correctly). A message will be shown to aid you in identifying the mistake.

You will need to correct the file and import it again to resume the process.
Please note that you will need to delete the already imported lines from the file before re-uploading it, as to avoid duplicates.

  • If you do not tick the box:

The document will be processed in its entirety, but any line containing errors will be skipped and will not be imported.

How to complete the template?

The import template is an Excel file where each column corresponds to a field or option available in the company creation form.

Each row will need to be filled with information related to a specific company or branch. The columns that correspond to checkboxes (i.e. Simplified capital management, shares numbering, etc.) will need to be filled with either “Yes” or “No”, depending on whether you want the checkbox to be flagged or not.

The “Mother company” column will need to be filled only if the “This is a branch” column is set as “Yes”.

If the “This is a branch” column is set as “Yes”, the following columns can be empty:

  • Simplified capital management
  • Automatic numbering of accounts and movements of shares
  • Shares numbering
  • Type of ownership management

Once the document is complete, save it and import it via the “Import from xls” button in the “Companies” tab.

The new companies and branches will be added to the list.
